YOU can be a part of the research! We are now conducting an online community survey put together by our consulting firm, Downtown Professionals Network. Call to Artists!
Wayland Main Street announces a call to artists for an Art Competition and Sale in downtown businesses and outdoor spaces from June 1 through June 23, 2012. All media will be considered for the indoor and outdoor categories. Winners in both categories will be chosen by public vote and prizes of $200, $100, and $50 will be awarded to first through third place entrants. Deadline to enter is May 18, 2012.

Volunteer Downtown
Do you have new ideas for our downtown? Want to be a part of building the future? Join a Main Street committee!
There has been an incredible response from the Wayland community to get involved with the program and our second year is off to an amazing start! We can never have enough volunteers and we are looking for more. Our Design committee is looking for two people to join them in their efforts to revitalize our downtown. Below is a brief description of the committee and the projects they have worked on.
Design: works to get downtown into top physical shape by capitalizing on its best assets – such as historical buildings and downtown layout. Create an inviting atmosphere through window displays, parking areas, signs, sidewalks, street lights, and landscaping.
Members of this committee are typically interested in: architecture, history, real estate, interior design, contracting, graphic design and art, city planning, and being a part of the “action”
Some of our Design committee projects include:Wash Up Wayland, Historical Coloring Contest, Facade Grants & Design Services, Sign Guidelines, Streetscape Visioning & Planning, Downtown Tree Care & Gardening, and more!
Each of us has a vision for the future of Wayland, and individually,we each possess unique skills necessary for this program to succeed. If you are committed to making a difference in downtown, big or small, we need YOU!
