the Michigan and national main street program

​Downtown Wayland is guided by a dedicated DDA Board made up of local residents and district stakeholders, along with an Executive Director who leads day-to-day operations. Together, they work to support the revitalization and continued growth of the downtown district. Downtown Wayland is also a part of the Michigan Main Street program, which provides training, resources, and support grounded in the principles of the National Main Street program. This partnership connects Wayland to a broader network focused on community-driven economic development, historic preservation, and downtown design.
