Describe your business. What do you provide in this market?

More than just your home town record shop. Featuring CDs, DVDs, Posters, T-shirts, New and Vintage Stereos. Along with some Retro Furniture to finish off the perfect sound room in your place. Retro Room also offers a full line of DJs for that percfect, special event.

How long have you been in downtown Wayland?

We are just starting in Wayland. We had our grand opening and ribbon cutting on October 27.

Why downtown Wayland?

Our hope is to build the great community of Wayland at the same time offer a convenient location for the surrounding areas.

How have you seen Wayland Main Street supporting downtown businesses?

Wayland Main Street has been very active in keeping in touch with our business to see how they can help us grow, through large marketing techniques or just simply provide “word of mouth”.

What’s one thing you wish more people would know about your business?

Because of our unique spin on the record shop, we would like people to know that we offer much more than just records.

What’s unique about your business that you can’t get at a chain or online?

Personal customer service and the unique goods we sell.

Tell us your story. How did you get started?

Three friends with a passion for music looking for a need in the town of Wayland. “This town needs a music store…”. We built it on a dream to grow so we can continue to offer a plethora choices for our guests at the same time giving us a place to “hang out and relax”.

Why do you think it’s important to shop local?

A town can’t strive and grow without it’s own community supporting it.

Do you have any events or programming coming up that you would like people to know about?

We have many plans for Album Release signings, live music and more. We encourage everyone to stay informed through our website www.retroroom.net

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

We are very thankful for the support we have received so far and looking forward to the next several years ahead.
